Wis. capital city begins waste disposal program

MADISON, Wis. (AP) ? Dane County officials are looking for hazardous household garbage. The county is set to start summer hours for its Clean Sweep Program on May 1. People can bring hazardous household waste such as pesticides or paint thinners as well as agricultural waste to the Clean Sweep site in Madison from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, free of charge. Dane County officials say the program helps keep hazardous materials out of landfills. More details are available on the program's website, www.danecountycleansweep.com.
