Oakland City Center celebrates Fall with great events
Oakland, CA (PRWEB) October 24, 2012
Oakland City Center, an office space where work and leisure meet, continues to present exciting events as it celebrates the autumn season. The Oakland community is invited to come by the City Square Plaza outside the 12th Street Oakland City Center BART Station to take part in free events, including its noontime concert series.
"Grab your lunch and a friend, and relax to some of the most sophisticated sounds in the Bay," Karissa Obeso-Govan of Oakland City Center said.
From noon to 1 p.m. on every Wednesday, the Oakland business properties are treating diners to exquisite music with its noontime concert series, entitled ?Celebrating the Arts Music Series.? Foxtails Brigade is presenting chamber pop music on Oct. 24, and Betty Roi and her Kingtette is offering French cabaret on Oct. 31.
?Betty Roi is an authentic Parisian chanteuse. For her, singing has been a way to both know herself and to connect with the rest of the world. It was music and dance and the dreams of performing in America that fueled her longings as a child growing up in Paris,? Obeso-Govan said. ?Just right for a Halloween treat ... music from a Parisian chanteuse.?
For more information about the concert series, call 510-698-1017, view the Oakland City Center on the Web at http://www.oaklandcitycenter.com or visit 500 12th St. in Oakland.
