The woman's relative told deputies that the victim lived with her boyfriend and Hastings, a drug dealer who goes by the name "Joker" and who has a tattoo of a joker on his face, court records show. Hasting's acquaintance told investigators that they were discussing the increased police presence in the area when Hastings told him "he had killed a prostitute and burned her body," an arrest warrant filed in the case states. The witness identified Hastings through a prison photo taken at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where he served time for a conviction on an aggravated robbery in 2008.
